Online & Telephone Counselling

Online & Telephone Sessions

Navigating life’s challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming or confusing. I provide supportive and professional guidance to help you work toward making sense of your experiences, develop coping strategies and improve your overall sense of well-being.

Online and telephone appointments allow you to engage in sessions from the comfort of your own environment. It offers convenience, comfort and accessibility that in-person sessions may not always provide.

I strive to offer a flexible approach by giving you the option of online sessions via Teams, telephone consultations, or in-person meetings at my office in Central Durham.

Differences and Similarities to In-Person Sessions

Remote sessions may feel different to traditional face-to-face appointments. Many individuals find it more comfortable and easier to communicate online or over the phone. It can often feel more comforting to be in the familiar surroundings of your own space.

Despite these differences, the core principles of counselling remain unchanged. Research shows that online and telephone therapy can be just as effective as in-person counselling.

While remote counselling has advantages, it also presents potential challenges, such as technical issues or needing a space where you’ll not be overheard. I am committed to assisting you in resolving any technical hitches should they arise during a session.

Further Information

I am a qualified and accredited counsellor with over ten years of experience, including four years specialising in online & telephone counselling, backed by dedicated training in remote therapy.

If you’re unsure whether online/phone therapy is suitable for you, sometimes the only way to find out is to give it a go. There’s no commitment beyond the first appointment (standard fee applies), giving you the freedom to assess whether this approach suits your needs and whether you feel it's a good fit for you.

It’s natural to have reservations, and it can take a lot of courage to start therapy. I aim to support and guide you from your initial contact.

If you have any questions about therapy, concerns about starting counselling or would like to book an initial appointment, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
